“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” – 1 Chronicles 16:34
My cup is overflowing with gratefulness for all that God has been doing in my life over the past year. Last Thanksgiving, my herniated disc was very severe with pain traveling all the way down my leg. I could hardly feel some of the toes on my right foot and they had poor circulation. I remember having a heavy heart that was full of fear and resentment at what was happening to me.
Since then, God changed my heart and carried me through a life changing experience. He brought me on lots of adventures, including a trip to Chicago and exploring New England. He healed my back and my heart. He introduced me to women who inspire my dreams and speak wisdom and purpose into them. He took me on a retreat, where I had the opportunity to lead a special group of middle schoolers and soak up His beauty in the nature there. He provided, time and time again. He shared the goodness of intentional mornings with me, and then taught me to give myself grace when schedules shift. He saw me through a difficult season and taught me more about myself and His heart for me through it. He brought me on a special trip to the South with my mama, where I got to celebrate the company I most admire and hug a sweet friend who God has used in a big way in my life over the past year. Most recently, he has given me sweet moments with loved ones and a passion for weddings and the love that lasts far beyond them.
Just writing this post filled my heart even more. In a world that is full of noise and can be piled up with clutter, it can become difficult to clearly see the blessings that are right before us. I am thankful for the unhindered vision that I have to look upon those gifts today and for the work that God is doing within my life that I have yet to see.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends.
