Earlier this week I shared my goals for the month and how I have taken notice of some big things that God is doing in my life. I began an incredible internship opportunity last Thursday, a blessing that encouraged me to celebrate the ‘wins’ in my life. 2014 was a time of pruning, marked with many storms that times of trouble. My feet are now on solid ground and there is new life in my steps. I smile at this print everyday when I sit at my desk, as it echoes the sentiment of my heart. When I stepped back on last week and looked at the wins and all that God is doing, I wanted to create a tangible reminder that every blessing is from Him and not a product of my striving or ‘success’. This verse sat in the foreground of my mind:
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
So often in the past, I have lost sight of this truth. Life has struggles and storms and it can be easy to inch toward the mentality of doubting God’s goodness and faithfulness. I decided to create a jar where I can place slips of paper that remind me of the blessings He has given me this year and to encourage me when storms stir. I designed a little label with James 1:17 on it and affixed it to a 16 ounce mason jar. I have found great joy in adding pieces to the jar and having the scripture before me on my desk. If you are interested in crafting your own wins jar, I hope you will find this label to be useful. It’s a cheerful yellow and it measures 2 x 3″. Enjoy!
