Blog-tember Day 12: Fall Reading

Y’all, there are three minutes left in this day and I am just about to make it with today’s Blog-tember post! The prompt is to share three books: one you just read, one you’re currently reading, and one you want to read. I currently have a heap piled up on my bookshelf of books I’d like to read, so I’m going to give all three spaces in today’s post to books that are newly launched or soon-to-be launching instead.

1. Grace Not Perfection by Emily Ley

It has been a delight to watch the process of Emily Ley’s family and business grow over the past few years and to see her excitement through the book writing process. She has shared snippets of the journey on social media and Facebook live and it’s been a sweet thing! I am excited to both meet her and purchase her book next month.

2. The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines

If ever there was an interior style that best captures my equal love for rustic country charm, white space, warmth, and sweet details, it’s that of Joanna Gaines. While I’ve only watched a few episodes of Fixer Upper, muchly because I multitask when I watch TV and I want to give my full attention to their show, I am a fan. I fell smitten with the Magnolia brand and story this past winter after clicking through pages of their beautiful website (that paint line y’all).

3. Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

The subtitle to this book so accurately describes one of the biggest lessons of my heart this year. Speaking from experience of once having tried to do all the things, I now value simplicity and slowness alongside deepening relationships and spending time with community. Saying no to some things has helped me to invest better into others and the shift has been such a sweet one.
