Oh happy day! We started Financial Peace University at our church last night and I am SO excited about it. Our sweet group facilitator read about my goal to attend FPU on this page and reached out to invite us to the class. Goodness, y’all – I am thankful for that! I believe God knew we needed a push in our busy season to make FPU a priority. It not only fits my 101 in 1001 goals but also #5 on my 2017 goals. I am really passionate about stewardship and see both time and money as valuable commodities to spend wisely. I am excited to increase our financial literacy and learn about saving and investing through Financial Peace University this fall!
In our few months of marriage, we have been incredibly diligent with our money. We made our first monthly budget shortly after our wedding and have continued the discipline every month since. I am proud to say that we have been successful in honoring our budget! As we sat in our class last night, I realized how unusual that is. While Dillon and I are proud of ourselves for the choices we’ve made with money so far, we have so much to learn.
Things I’m Most Excited About for Financial Peace University
- Continuing our snowball of paying off our student loans
- Becoming more unified with Dillon in our perspective of money
- Refining our budget to be the best it can be
- Become more joyful in giving and saving
- Learning more about investments
For the next nine weeks, we will be dedicating our Tuesday nights to increasing our financial literacy. I am so motivated to make choices that, as Dave Ramsey says, allow us to “Live like no one else, so later you can live and give like no one else”. Stay tuned, friends, because I fully intend to share our journey with you!
