Inspiration Board No. 2: Thanksgiving Table

Oh how I love this time of year. It is a season rich in tradition and full of festivity. I always say that fall is my favorite season, until Christmas. Many people consider Thanksgiving night to be the official start of the Christmas season, so I am feeling all kinds of warm and fuzzy right now. Tomorrow will begin with watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and flipping through the thick stack of Black Friday ads that will be found on our doorstep in the morning. In the afternoon, my family will gather around Grammy and Tappy’s dining table and eat a delicious warm meal on their blue and white china. We will share turkey with all the fixings, including Grammy’s meat stuffing and sweet potato soufflé.
In the spirit of the holiday, I have compiled some of my favorite ideas for a pretty Thanksgiving day:

A simple pairing of tied herbs and ribbon can be used in lieu of traditional place cards, bringing a clean and natural look to the table. Use a gold foil art print with a grateful reminder to give visual interest to the dining space, while also doubling as year-round decor. Add a pop of warmth to the table by wrapping settings of silver in a burnt orange or cranberry ribbon. Repurposed wood planks can serve as rustic and resourceful placemats, working equally well both indoors or outdoors. For post-meal fun and family football games, orchard baskets can be filled with beverages and small snacks to go. To give thanks to loved ones and show appreciation, wrap sweet treats with cellophane and tie them with a note of gratitude (these fun printable can be found for free here).
