Welcome, dear friend! Here you will find an inside look into my life as a business owner and newlywed, helpful advice from years of studying wedding publications, and snippets of all things delightful as they delight my virtual travels. I'm so glad you're here!
My mind has been drifting towards dreamy ideas a lot this week. One of the thoughts that keeps lingering is my desire to someday have a house with a big porch. I want to have several rocking chairs and a porch swing so I can sit and watch the sky get all colorful as the sun sets in the evenings. I want to settle into one of those creaky chairs and enjoy my daily quiet time outside when the morning weather is warm. I want to have a big basket of thick blankets for when the weather is cold so that friends and family can cozy up and enjoy the fresh air early in the spring and late into the fall. I want the porch to be a place of rest and quiet for writing and prayer, but also a place of hospitality where community can be cultivated and conversations can be enjoyed. I want to have cookouts on the porch with fresh lemonade and thick slices of watermelon.
Ever since I was in high school, I have found that I often think bigger thoughts and feel closer to the Lord when I am outside without a roof over my head or walls around me. I think the porch would be a perfect place to savor those moments without having to leave home to do so. Do you have places where you like to go to be still and think big thoughts?
