Welcome, dear friend! Here you will find an inside look into my life as a business owner and newlywed, helpful advice from years of studying wedding publications, and snippets of all things delightful as they delight my virtual travels. I'm so glad you're here!
After a long summer and some exciting growth that has happened on this blog and in my journey as a designer, I think it’s time to reintroduce myself to the internet and share a little bit about myself and my heart. I hope you’ll pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea, join me for a little quality time, and share something about yourself in the comments below after you’ve finished reading. It’s a pleasure to meet you!
I don’t have it all figured out. I am still pretty new to reading the Bible and learning how to study His Word. I want to trust Him wholly and glorify Him in all that I do. I want to be part of what He’s doing and choose His ways over my own. I don’t ever want to complicate what He intended to be simple.
I want to work for myself and be able to support myself doing what I love. This is a step-by-step journey and I am navigating it as I go. I am currently in a season of casting vision and building a foundation for my business. I am passionate about doing what you are passionate about and I don’t like being told that I can’t do something. I am afraid of failing and I deal with lots of doubts that I can do this (and do it well). I dream big but am starting small right where I’m at.
I used to shy away from travel because I liked the familiar, but now I am pretty fearless with adventuring and exploring. The lead-up to trips are one of my most favorite things and I have an equal love for planning and spontaneity. There are so many places I want to go in my life and I’m really grateful for the recent (and upcoming) opportunities to do so.
I had a back injury in 2013 that ultimately led to me becoming sedentary and not taking care of myself. I am now learning to enjoy working out and eating well, but it’s a process. I don’t ever want to be superficial or proud in getting fit, but rather I want to become the best version of myself that I can so that I can take action on the things that matter most to me. This area of my life has been a big struggle over the past year and a half and it is a heart thing for me, but I am reclaiming freedom here day by day.
I like to find pretty things and enjoy them. I like to treat myself to nice things like a bottle of wine or brunch out with friends. I appreciate strong brands and quality products and I have an eye for things that are done well. I also know that pretty things are not what life is all about and I like to see the beauty in the simple, too.
I like to get connected with others and I am often told that my openness and willingness to be vulnerable is rare. It wasn’t until I got plugged in with my church community and The Influence Network that I started building the majority of relationships that are in my life today.
Growing up is an adventure. I want to move out at some point but I currently live at home. I am working at developing systems in my life to be organized and to manage my time well. I recently started keeping a morning routine and I intend to stick with it for the long run. I like to learn and grow, something that I do through listening to podcasts, reading books and blogs, and reaching out to others who have already been where I am now.
I like to save money and steward my resources well. I believe in paying for things up front instead of charging them, and I like to thrift just as much as I like J.Crew or Anthropologie. I used to shop a lot, but now I like simplicity and order over excess and clutter.
