Happy Thursday, Friends! It’s only been six days since my last post but it feels like it’s been much longer. This past week has been FULL. Thankfully, by God’s grace, I am soon going to have a much more balanced life. I don’t want to share too much yet, but He has opened the door for me to pursue some big goals of mine and put an end to being spread so thin. With that, I plan to post here much more consistently soon. In lieu of a typical sequence of posts, I am writing a quick post to share what we’ve been up to this week!
I spent much of Saturday working on two big projects for my courses, hence the lack of blog posts this week. These are the last courses I plan to take for the foreseeable future, but I’m getting a lot out of them! My higher level course is a strategic look at social media for business. Our final project includes writing a social media proposal for a small business, and I chose a wedding photographer because of my ties to and interest with the wedding industry. While it has been very time-consuming, I’ve also been enjoying it quite a bit!
Dillon came home from Catalyst Conference in Atlanta on Saturday night. He is so blessed to have gotten to visit the South, but thankfully he brought back a special mix to make what he claims to be the very best cheese biscuits ever.
We are looking forward to the wedding of two dear friends this Sunday – YAY! Dillon is a groomsman and we are excited for their rehearsal tonight. On Monday we were blessed to have them over for dinner. It was a privilege to share some wisdom that we’ve learned in our first months of marriage. They shared some of their wedding day details with us over dinner too which delighted me. It’s no secret that I love weddings!
In preparation for our Monday night dinner, I made a big pot of hunter’s minestrone soup. Y’all, save this recipe and make it on a cold fall evening. It’s so cozy and hearty, we were all big fans! I served it with toasted baguette slices and savored dipping them into the soup. I am such a fan of soup, so I’m extra excited that it’s soup season!
Yesterday I went for a run before work and achieved my second fastest pace! I started running in late July and it has been great fun to see my pace improve over time. The unseasonal humidity made my earlier run this week quite a challenge, so it was especially nice to redeem that yesterday!
Now I’m cozied up on our couch with a warm cup of coffee beside me. I lit our new crackling pumpkin candle and added cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to my coffee to be festive. I’m very thankful for this sunny Thursday morning and am looking forward to a fun weekend ahead!
