Welcome, dear friend! Here you will find an inside look into my life as a business owner and newlywed, helpful advice from years of studying wedding publications, and snippets of all things delightful as they delight my virtual travels. I'm so glad you're here!
This weekend was filled to the brim in the best ways! From Friday night through Sunday night, our calendar was full of quality time with family and friends. The weather was beautifully sunny and unseasonably warm and the leaves have just begun to change color. It was such a treat!
Friday morning began not-yet-bright and early with quiet time on the couch with my crackling candle. I have been LOVING waking up before the sun and am thankful for a few quiet minutes before watching the sun break through the clouds each day.
I made roasted tomato macaroni and cheese from Southern Living for dinner on Friday night before spending time with my sweet friend Jenn, including a Target run. It has been a goal of mine to add Christmas lights behind the curtain panels near our dining table and was finally able to find some there! Y’all, they already have Christmas decorations tucked behind the Halloween costumes and I’m thrilled. I started listening to Christmas carols privately in the car last week and plan to break out my spruce candle at least a week before Thanksgiving.
Dillon and I plan to paint a desk soon (complete with a cute Anthro-style knob!) to give my new computer a home. In the meantime, my little twinkly makeshift workspace is so cozy!
I got all festive on Saturday morning and baked nearly a hundred pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for our day of family parties. Our home smelled lovely and they were a huge hit with both sides of our families!
We shared the afternoon with my family, enjoying a cookout and making s’mores around a campfire. It means the world to me to have everyone gathered in one place and it was lovely to have time to sit and enjoy that! While my dream to move to the South still remains strong in my heart, family time like that helps stir gratitude for New Hampshire.
After an afternoon with my side of the family, we drove to Dillon’s family home for their September/October birthday celebration. They live about forty minutes west of my family’s home, which meant we got to drive toward the sunset and enjoy all the beautiful light pouring through the foliage on the way. It was so restful to slow down and enjoy that time with Dillon! We arrived to his parents’ home to a table of warm crockpot soups and fun birthday desserts. It was truly a weekend of indulgence!
Yesterday we got to celebrate the wedding of our dear friends Tim and Ali! Dillon was a groomsman so I got to drive to the wedding with my dear friend Hanna. We talked about everything from lipstick to camera lenses and arrived to the venue in the blink of an eye! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and I had the best time dancing the evening away! I may or may not have ran back inside when I heard Wagon Wheel start playing. It’s my ode to North Carolina after all!
