Welcome, dear friend! Here you will find an inside look into my life as a business owner and newlywed, helpful advice from years of studying wedding publications, and snippets of all things delightful as they delight my virtual travels. I'm so glad you're here!
Oh happy day, y’all! Today is launch day for tenth anniversary issue of Southern Weddings magazine! If you’ve been reading my blog for a minute, you know that this publication is dear to my heart. Their beautiful blog, Pinterest boards, and previously-launched magazines were the only resource I turned to for my own wedding inspiration. They are a sweet team filled with heart and southern charm based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
This issue is especially dear to me because I was invited to contribute earlier this year! On page 210, among dear ladies who I admire, I shared a snippet about family traditions Dillon and I have carried into our marriage. YAY! I will share a picture of that snippet soon, but in the meantime I am toasting the Southern Weddings family (with sweet tea, of course!) by sharing ten of my favorite editorials – in no particular order – published through the years. Enjoy!
Deep in the Heart of Texas (V6 – 2013)
The navy dresses, classic white florals, and wide open field are so delightfully Texas! This editorial inspired my very own bridesmaids dresses, and with the help of my sweet friends we were able to match a few of the dresses exactly! View the original post here.
My Kentucky Rose (V5 – 2012)
The pink and red creates such a warm palette, balanced beautifully by dreamy garland. This editorial inspired the biscuit bar we treated guests to during our cocktail hour! View the original post here.
Texas Sweethearts (V8 – 2015)
The blue, the florals, the small-town setting, and the inspiration are so dreamy! The SW gals pulled their inspiration from Friday Night Lights, and a sweet fellow blogger modeled with her husband. I guest posted for Victoria earlier this year and she and her husband Ben are the perfect Texas couple for this editorial! View the original post here.
Equestrian Elegance (V8 – 2015)
The equestrian inspiration for this editorial reminds me of my sweet, horse-loving mama. The ribbon escort tags are the cutest! View the original post here.
Love Preserved (V8 – 2015)
These flower girl dresses are among my most favorite, and the jar display is beautiful! My sweet friend Nancy shot this editorial when she was 9 months pregnant and it’s as full of heart as the team that made it happen! View the original post here.
Family Heirlooms (V5 – 2012)
This was one of the very first editorials I ever swooned over when I was introduced to SW a few years ago. The lettering by Lindsay Sherbondy, the ombre dresses, and the setting are delightful! Dillon and I almost pulled our meal inspiration from those darling lunch boxes. View the original post here.
Sweet Corn Sweethearts (V6 – 2013)
The premise of family and a shared meal make this editorial a favorite of mine. This family-style dinner inspired my own wedding meal and was my desired layout if our logistics had allowed! View the original post here.
Fun and Fancy Free (V7 – 2014)
America, community, and playful details make this look like so much fun! I feel that this editorial gave me permission to allow some aspects of our wedding to be casual but charming. View the original post here.
Chapel Charm (V9 – 2016)
The premise of this editorial is a small town and church family gathering after service to celebrate the couple. How darling! View the original post here.
A Savored Celebration (V7 – 2014)
Y’all, this editorial shared the idea of writing handwritten notes to every guest. We almost did this with our own wedding but were so pressed for time. And the monogram cake – swoon! View the original post here.
