Welcome, dear friend! Here you will find an inside look into my life as a business owner and newlywed, helpful advice from years of studying wedding publications, and snippets of all things delightful as they delight my virtual travels. I'm so glad you're here!
Oh happy day! Last month marked the launch of the 10th Anniversary Issue of Southern Weddings magazine! I have been a loyal reader of their blog and magazine for four years and am passionate about their mission:
“Our mission is to inspire brides to cultivate a life full of love — celebrating their families, the culture of the South, and what matters most to them — and then to draw from that rich well to create a meaningful beginning to married life.”
While I have lived in New Hampshire all my life, I am a Southern belle at heart. I also love traditions, family, community, and creating a meaningful legacy. I love wearing pearls, buying items with my monogram, listening to bluegrass, and sipping sweet tea. When I first laid eyes on the pages of Southern Weddings in 2013, it felt like my heart on paper. As Dillon and I planned our wedding, I turned to Southern Weddings as my sole planning resource.
I hold this year’s issue extra dear because I was invited to contribute to the pages in a small way! I nearly leapt from my chair when I received an email from Jess this summer asking me to contribute. Today I am excited to share those words with you!
“Our families raised us on strong traditions of community and hospitality. We carry this legacy into our marriage by inviting friends over for spontaneous game nights, hosting dinners around our table, and savoring unrushed family gatherings after church on Sundays. Modeled from our parents, we take care not to become too busy for sharing time with those who matter most by protecting that space in our calendar.”
Sending a big thank you to the Southern Weddings team for inviting me to play a small part in their 10th Anniversary Issue!
