2017 Blog Survey Results

Last month I hosted my very first blog survey and was blessed by the responses I received! After four years of blogging, I have grown to appreciate seeing the same sweet names pop up among readers. It was about time I hear from y’all on what you like to read here! I so enjoy reading survey results from the blogs I follow, so I’m sharing mine with you today!

When did you start reading my blog? More than half of you began reading in 2017! Welcome new friends! About ten percent of you have been reading since the very beginning in 2014, while another ten percent began following along in 2015. Thirty percent of you joined in 2016, the year of our engagement – so fun!

How did you first discover my blog? Readers have come from all over, which explains my diversified map of states where you all live! Responses included Southern Weddings, Making Things Happen, Ruth Eileen Photography, other lovely blogs, and our church.

How do you stay up to date on posts? Most of you visit directly in your browser. Is there another way you’d prefer for new posts to be delivered to you? If so, please share below!

Would you be interested in a Kyla Mary Newsletter? This was a 2/3 split, revealing that many of you prefer to not add to your inbox – which I totally understand! For those of you who would love a newsletter, stay tuned!

What would you like to read more of in 2018? I was very surprised at this result. By a large margin, you asked for more personal updates. I often shy away from sharing frequent personal updates because I don’t want to talk about myself too much, but I am happy to share more this year! Runner-ups included monthly goal posts, newlywed life and tips, personal growth (books I’m reading, etc), and pretty visual inspiration.

What would you like to read less of in 2018? Thankfully this category didn’t receive too many votes! Feedback received included balancing behind-the-scenes business posts with personal posts, which is helpful to know!

What are some post ideas you’d like me to write about or questions you’d like me to answer in a future post? These responses were so fun! They included a day in the life, personal finance, highs and lows of marriage, bible study tools, fitness, spiritual life, faith in a not-so-spiritual part of the country, lifestyle, decorating, adjusting to life after moving out of my parents’ home, my creative process, our proposal, and relationships.

What is your favorite thing about reading the Kyla Mary blog? Y’all. These responses were the sweetest. Relatability stood out the most to me, which means a lot because I want to encourage every reader in that way! Some favorite responses were “I love your writing style. I relate a lot to your life as I’m in a similar life stage and enjoy many of the same passions as you. So basically I love reading it all. :)” and “How much I can relate, your life is real and not some dream I don’t have/can never have.” I also received a sweet note about how refreshing it is that I blog from New England, as the commenter said most bloggers she knows are from the South. I’m so glad to represent our little corner of the country!

Thank you all so much for your readership! It means the world to me that you take time to follow along and share in my joys and inspiration. I am so glad you are here!
