We are hosting some friends for dinner tomorrow night and I’ve taken great delight in preparing our menu: chicken pot pie and cream biscuits – YUM! Since we have a few things on our schedule during the day tomorrow, I prepped both ahead of time this evening and it’s taking every bit of willpower I have to not devour them both. As I prepared the biscuits, I had a little bit of leftover dough. Since I plan to bake the full batch tomorrow evening to serve warm with dinner, I used the extra dough to make a few sample biscuits to try tonight. Y’all, they are incredible! I pulled them from the oven a few minutes ago, spread some butter into the middle of one, and the rest is history. My batch came out a little crumbly, but taste incredibly delicious – I count this as a win for my first try! I’m so excited to share these tomorrow and savor this little sampling for myself tonight!
I pulled this recipe straight out of one of my favorite cookbooks, but also found the recipe here to share with you. They are so simple to prepare and are sure to be a delightful accompaniment to all my homecooked favorites. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
